Clara Clark Received the North Carolina Society of American Foresters Young Forester Leadership Award

Clara Clark, Biometrician, was recently awarded the Young Forester Leadership Award by the North Carolina Society of American Foresters (SAF).

The award is made annually to a forester under age 40 who is a member in good standing with the Society and has exhibited the potential for exemplary leadership and distinguished service.

Clark is an active member of the Catawba Chapter; currently serving as its Treasurer and primary contact and organizer of the chapter's meetings. According to the Chapter, she has breathed new life into the chapter meetings and often initiates discussion centered on recent Journal of Forestry articles.

Clara has coordinated volunteer opportunities for the Catawba Chapter such as Earth Day 2017 at Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, SC, and she hosted an SAF booth at Nature Night in Charlotte. She will serve as the North Carolina Division Secretary for 2019.
