American Forest Management Announces Promotions, Strengthening Foundation for Future Growth
American Forest Management is pleased to announce the promotion of four key employees within the company. Tom Margo, who most recently served as Interim President/Director of Investment and Real Estate Services, has been appointed President; former Manager, Forest Planning & Analysis, Laura Parker, has been promoted to Director of Resource Planning Services; Stephen Eddins, formerly the Data Services Manager, is taking on the role of Director of Technical Services; and former Carolinas Real Estate Operations Manager, Chris Miller, has accepted the position of Director of Real Estate Services.
“Tom, Laura, Stephen and Chris have each demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to American Forest Management for many years and I am confident they will continue to drive the company forward in their new roles for years to come,” said Brent Keefer, CEO of American Forest Management. “Promoting these talented and tenured individuals from within creates a more efficient organizational structure and allows us to better service our clients.”
Tom has over 30 years of experience in the forestry and land business. Throughout his time at American Forest Management, he has held various roles on both the forestry and real estate sides of the business. He has worked on land management, brokerage and acquisition projects across the country. As President, he will oversee numerous departments including real estate, risk management, resource planning, technical services and marketing and development. Tom will continue to serve on the Executive Committee helping provide overall leadership to the company.
Laura brings to her new role over 15 years’ experience at the company. As Director of Resource Planning Services, she will continue delivering strategic and tactical forest planning solutions for a wide range of clients. Her knowledge and skill set make her well-positioned to lead the forestry planning and analysis, biometric services and acquisition services departments.
Stephen embarks on his new role as Director of Technical Services with more than 15 years of experience working on American Forest Management’s technology team. He has spearheaded internal and field technological advances for the company and will continue to do so in his new role. He now oversees four service lines: data management, GIS/technology, IT and systems development.
Chris has over 18 years of combined forestry and land brokerage experience and carries the esteemed Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) credential with Realtors Land Institute. As Director of Real Estate Services, he will oversee the real estate department company-wide in the 12 regions they serve. He will also be integral in growing the business on a regional basis, working closely with brokers and agents.
