American Forest Management Announces its COO Jim Daniel’s Retirement and Reorganization of its Land Management and Land Services Groups

Following a 44-year career in forest management, Jim Daniel is retiring from American Forest Management effective September 30, 2020. Upon his retirement, a reorganization of AFM’s Land Management and Land Services Groups will occur that will better position the company for growth. Chuck Mathis has been appointed Director of Southern Operations; David Cole, Director of Northern Operations; Dennis Dart, Director of Western Operations; and Jeff Mayo, Director of Land Services.

Daniel served in his current role since November 2007 and prior to that, served in many field and leadership positions with Union Camp, International Paper and Sustainable Forest Technologies. During his tenure as AFM’s COO, he played a key role in helping the organization grow throughout the United States and Central America. Under his leadership, AFM’s Land Management Group managed over 5.85 million acres.
