No permit is required to access the Broughton Lumber Company, Lupine Forest, or DGS Timber properties for recreational use. You are free to enjoy those lands without obtaining any license or paying a fee, provided the property is not under a fire danger closure.

Not all properties are open. Broughton Lumber Company lands located in Mill A and Underwood are closed to all recreational activities. All Klickitat Holdings properties are also closed to the public. The remaining Broughton Lumber Company lands and all DGS Timber properties are open to recreational activities unless temporarily closed due to fire danger.

No. No unauthorized motor vehicles of any kind are allowed behind the gates on Broughton Lumber Company or DGS Timber properties. You should also avoid blocking access to any gates at any time.

Under Washington State law RCW 4.24.210, public or private landowners who allow members of the public to use their property for outdoor recreation without charging a fee are not liable for unintentional injuries to those users. Because no fee is charged on these properties, that liability protection applies.
