Wesley Johnson

Wesley Johnson serves as a Resource Planning Manager at AFM, based in Roanoke, Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resource Management and a Master of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics, both from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He brings ten years of experience to his role and is a member of both the Virginia Forestry Association and the Society of American Foresters.

Wesley works across a broad geographic region covering counties and cities in North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. His service area includes locations such as Roanoke, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Danville, and Martinsville in Virginia, as well as numerous counties in the Piedmont and mountain regions of North Carolina and counties throughout southern and central West Virginia.

Wesley says his favorite part of the job is the people he gets to work with. He values the opportunity to interact with landowners, investors, forest industry professionals, and AFM staff from across the country. He describes forestry as a field full of wonderful people, and considers AFM to be especially well-staffed with them.

Wesley was initially drawn to forestry because it offered hands-on, outdoor work in unique environments. While his current role as Resource Planning Manager is primarily office-based, he remains passionate about the field because of the dynamic nature of forests as ecosystems and the importance of wood as a sustainably managed resource for society.
