Matt Jacobs

Matt Jacobs, Region Manager in Farmington, Maine, started his career in 2005. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from the University of Maine and is a Licensed Forester in Maine and New Hampshire.

Why did you pursue a career in forestry? I pursued a career in forestry because my family owned a farm that included forestland managed by a forester. After spending time with that forester during high school and learning about the woodlands and management opportunities, I developed an interest in the field. The rest, as they say, is history.

What do you like about your role with AFM? I enjoy seeing our new foresters grow into capable professionals, and I also like talking to landowners about what motivates them to own land.
