Kyle Parshall, Area Manager in South Hill, Virginia, started his career in 1996. He has a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from North Carolina State University. Kyle is a Virginia Certified Prescribed Burner, a Project Learning Tree Coordinator, and a member of the Virginia Forestry Association.
Why did you pursue a career in forestry? I wanted to get a wildlife degree but not many jobs were available in that career path at the time. Everything we do when managing forests manipulates various wildlife habitats, so I opted for a forestry career to meet my employment needs and my desire to manage wildlife.
What do you like the most about your role with AFM? I love the teamwork forestry provides. It’s great to be able to call on help when you need it and to provide assistance when others need some help.
