Eric Koenig

Eric Koenig serves as a District Manager based in Spokane, Washington. In that role he works with AFM foresters, clients, and contractors to execute planned operations and fulfill the goals of the landowners AFM is hired to manage land for.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Science from Washington State University. He is a member of the Society of American Foresters and the Washington Farm Forestry Association. His additional certifications include American Tree Farm System Qualified Inspector, NWCG Red Card Certified, WA DNR Certified Burner, and Washington Contract Logging Association Master Logger.

Eric works out of Spokane, Washington and covers a broad region in eastern Washington and northern Idaho. His service area includes cities such as Spokane, Pullman, Moses Lake, Lewiston, and Coeur d'Alene, and extends across numerous counties including Spokane, Kootenai, Whitman, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, and many others in both states.

Eric was drawn to forestry out of a love of the outdoors and a desire to work in natural resources. After considering fields like wildlife management, hydrology, and marine biology, he found his true passion was for the woods. A major motivating factor was witnessing how frequently wildfires devastated Washington state, and he wanted to make a meaningful difference in how forests are managed and have a positive impact on the environment.

Eric finds the most gratification in helping AFM foresters carry out planned operations that meet client goals. He particularly enjoys collaborating with staff, clients, and contractors to positively impact the lands under management, and he takes great satisfaction in revisiting completed projects to see the long-term results of that work.

Eric Koenig started his career in forestry in 2016 and has been working as a District Manager with American Forest Management in the Spokane, Washington area.
